PRODUCT DEVELOPER – FOOTWEAR, LEATHER GARMENTS, LEATHER GOODS & ACCESSORIES

About the role

Our Legacy is looking for a Product Developer to join the team working across footwear, leather garments, leather goods, bags and accessories, based at our head office in Stockholm. You'll take products from first concept to production-ready sample, working closely with design, production and our suppliers to make sure every piece meets our standard for quality, fit and function. This is a hands-on role with real ownership of the categories, alongside colleagues across product development, design, production and materials.

What you'll do

· Develop products across footwear, leather garments, leather goods, bags and accessories, from first prototype to final production approval

· Translate design intent into technical packs, construction specs and bills of materials

· Run fittings and technical reviews, evaluating construction, fit, materials and finish, and following up with factories on corrections

· Build development and production critical paths and keep factories aligned on timing

· Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and factories across Europe

· Work on costing and margins, and help shape price negotiations with suppliers

· Play a leading role in leather sourcing, working closely with our raw material team to purchase materials for development

· Keep development and production data up to date in our product systems

· Work closely with design, pattern, materials buying and production planning throughout the season

The ideal candidate

· Several years' experience in product development for footwear, leather garments, leather goods, bags or accessories, ideally across more than one category

· Strong technical knowledge of construction, materials and manufacturing methods for these product types

· Good knowledge of leather qualities and sourcing, alongside a good eye for materials, trends and category fit

· Proactive, with the initiative to spot and solve problems early

· Comfortable running fittings and giving clear, precise technical feedback to factories

· Experienced working directly with suppliers and factories, including on costing and price negotiation

· An interest in sustainable materials and ways of working

· Confident in Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator, and comfortable working in a PLM system

· Organised and able to manage multiple categories and deadlines at once

· Fluent in English, written and spoken. Swedish is a plus

· Comfortable with occasional travel to suppliers and factories
